YEIDA To Develop 'New Agra' Along Yamuna Expressway

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is set to develop the ‘New Agra Urban Center’ on both sides of the Yamuna Expressway. The authority is currently creating a blueprint for this project. The agency responsible for preparing the master plan has been instructed to conduct a new survey to outline the design for the new city.

Following the revision, both the area of the New Agra Urban Center and the number of villages are expected to increase. The deadline for completing the draft master plan is one month. The previous blueprint of New Agra Urban Center was prepared by US based, Tractwell Sky Group in association with Enzyme Company.

The blueprint had 10,500 hectares of land including 60 villages of Etmadpur, Agra. In the survey only one side of the expressway was included. Due to this the agency has been directed to include notified villages of Agra in New Agra Urban Centre on priority. YEIDA has instructed the agency to prepare the blueprint of the masterplan by physically verifying the villages on the spot with satellite maps.
