CREDAI Pune Metro MoU With VIIT Pune For Industry Ready Civil Engineers

In an endeavour to create skilled Civil Engineers, CREDAI Pune Metro signed an MOU with Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) Pune. To make them industry-ready CREDAI will be working towards imparting the students with skill-based practical and on-site training.

The MOU was signed by Ranjit Naiknavare - President of CREDAI Pune Metro and Bharat Agarwal- Managing Trustee of VIIT Pune at CREDAI Pune Metro office, Nucleus Mall, Camp, Pune. The initiative is undertaken by CREDAI Pune Metro, along with Kapil Trimal and the Team of CREDAI Pune Kushal.

Speaking during the signing of the MOU, Ranjit Naiknavare said, "The real estate sector in Pune has been on the rise for the last few years and we see the trend continuing for years to come. To be able to cater to this rise, we need skilled industry-ready engineers. Pune produces several Civil Engineers however, they are not well versed with the practical skills required to work on a project site, despite some of them undertaking internships. To bridge this industry-academia gap, we have created this unique upskilling program to provide the Civil Engineering students of VIIT-Pune a 360-degree comprehensive training program aimed at providing practical skills required for on-the-job implementation. We are glad to have signed an MOU to this effect with a prestigious institute like VIIT Pune.”

“Under the MOU, civil engineering students will be able to get hands-on training from the first year of the degree. The training program can be completed by students in 5 semesters. It will involve 200 hours of onsite training wherein CREDAI team members will impart comprehensive knowledge covering all practical aspects of working on a construction site,” he added further.

Expressing his joy about associating with CREDAI, Bharat Agarwal said, “There has been a lot of talk over the need for industry and academia to work together, but no one has implemented the same in Civil Engineering. This is the first such attempt in the country and we are happy to associate with CREDAI to take this forward as the onsite practical training for Civil Engineering students is crucial for their future and the progress of the real estate sector as well.”

Adding further he said, “We believe this initiative will create an ecosystem that accommodates innovators as their theoretical knowledge will be complemented with onsite skill development. The mark sheets of students will also have a mention of the completion of the training.”

CREDAI Pune Metro Secretary, Ashwin Trimal; Convenor Public Relations, Kapil Gandhi; CREDAI Kushal Joint Secretary, Sameer Belwalkar; CREDAI Member, Milind Talathi; CREDAI Kushal Program Coordinator, Kapil Trimal; CREDAI Pune Metro Director General, Dr. D. K. Abhyankar; CREDAI Pune Metro General Manager, Urmila Julka; Director of VIIT-Pune, Dr. Vivek Deshpande; Director of Corporate Relations Department, VIIT-Pune, Dr Atul Kulkarni; Head of Civil Engineering Department, VIIT-Pune, Dr. Srikant Shinde; Assistant Professor of VIIT-Pune, Dr. Archana Tanawade and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

CREDAI Kushal is an important initiative working relentlessly for the past 12 years to provide skill development workshops for construction workers. Along with these, CREDAI Kushal also addresses issues relating to the welfare and healthcare of construction workers, the education of their children, providing crèche facilities, and so on. CREDAI Pune aims to keep collaborating with additional colleges to broaden this program, thereby extending its benefits to a greater number of students.
