Haryana to Sell Rented, Leased Government Properties

The Haryana government has notified ‘The Haryana Disposal of Rented Government Properties Policy 2023’ for government departments, boards, corporations and authorities for selling its properties (shops/houses) under possession of individual or private entities by way of rent or lease, for the last 20 years or more.

Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said the policy will be applicable only to property parcels up to 100 sq yards per beneficiary/per land parcel for all such properties which had been leased or rented before June 1, 2001.

Kaushal said the policy would not be applicable on land of departments of tourism, transport and health and family welfare. It will also not be applicable on shamlat lands, panchayat lands, panchayat samiti and zila parishad lands. Those having possession of property for a period exceeding 20 years but less than 25 years will be charged 80% of the circle rate.

Those having property possession for 30 years or more but less than 35 years will be charged 75% of circle rate; those with possession of 35 years or more but less than 40 years will have to pay 65%; for 40 years or more but less than 45 years will be charged 60% of the circle rate; and for 45 years or more but less than 50 years, they will be charged 55%. Those who have possession for a period of 50 years will have to pay 50%of the circle rate.
