The Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is all set to introduce an online application and sanction process for mutation of properties for people residing in BMC ward 1 to ward 26 under Rajarhat Gopalpur area.
BMC MMiC Debraj Chakraborty said that e-mutation camps will be held for residents living in Rajarhat Gopalpur side to help them with any of their queries. “We are introducing an online mutation process from July 29. The existing process of off-line mutation will be phased out.
Mutation camps will be held, similar to the property tax camps where people will be assisted by our officers to deal with any of their queries as to how to go about the online mutation process”, Chakraborty said.
Till now residents of BMC wards 1 to 26 intending to mudate their properties had to apply off-line by going to the local borough office or to the BMC headquarters at Salt Lake.
“Residents will no longer have to physically reach the borough offices with hard copies of their property documents. From uploading scanned copies of related documents to getting their mutation document issued, the entire process will be done online. This will not only help in cutting down the longer time for the process to be completed but will also bring in more transparency to the system,” said a BMC assessment and mutation department official.
