India’s Sterling and Wilson Solar Ltd or SWSL, has secured an order to deliver balance of system (BOS) services for a portion of a 1,570-MW DC solar complex in the state of Gujarat.
The INR-22-billion (USD 275.5m/EUR 277.6) contract was placed by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. It was chosen for the job after emerging as the lowest bidder in a competitive selection that NTPC opened in June for 1,255 MW DC of projects.
As part of the deal, the solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm will be in charge of the BOS package for four blocks of the Khavda RE Power Park in the Rann of Kutch area of Gujarat. The scope of work will cover the design, engineering, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the solar capacity. The supply of modules is not included in the job. Sterling and Wilson will also deliver operations and maintenance (O&M) services for three years. The Indian firms said they expect to sign a formal Letter of Intent in due course.
