Boson Whitewater, a pioneering water utility company, has partnered with five apartment complexes in Bengaluru—DSR Waterscapes (Horamavu), The Tree by Provident (Sunkadakatte), SJR Brooklyn (Whitefield), MJ Amadeus (Rayasandra), and DLF Woodland Heights (Jigani)—to install its in-house water recycling systems. With a total investment of Rs2.1 crore, these systems will collectively save 3 lakh litres of water daily, transforming excess STP-treated wastewater into high-quality reusable water through an advanced 11-stage purification process.
Each apartment will generate approximately 60,000 litres of clean water per day, which will be supplied to nearby industries via Boson’s tanker network. The initiative not only reduces water wastage but also helps apartments become Zero Liquid Discharge buildings, ensuring compliance with environmental norms and offering water security during shortages.
Vikas Brahmavar, CEO and Co-Founder of Boson Whitewater, stated: “Excess STP treated water is a liability for apartments, and currently there are no avenues for proper disposal. We invest in infrastructure that allows apartments to turn this liability into a resource. Our system converts STP water into clean and usable water that can be used in-house, and the remaining is supplied on a pay-per-litre basis to nearby industries. This approach allows us to scale water recycling without placing the financial burden on the apartment communities.”
Selvapandy, apartment association member from SJR Brooklyn, added: "We wanted to ensure that our excess STP-treated water doesn't go to waste and is put to good use. Being part of Boson’s vision aligns with our commitment to sustainability, and we see it creating value for everyone involved including the environment."
Boson Whitewater currently works with 18 other residential communities, saving over 10 lakh litres of water daily, and continues to lead the charge in decentralized water recovery infrastructure across urban India.
