Otis India, a subsidiary of Otis Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: OTIS) – the world's leading manufacturer of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways, secured a prestigious contract to install 65 Gen2® Nova (metro) elevator systems supplied by its Bengaluru factory for the Patna Metro project, the first in the state of Bihar.
Otis India will play a crucial role in transforming Patna’s public transportation by providing advanced vertical mobility solutions for metro stations and depots, ensuring seamless, safe, reliable and accessible movement for all passengers. Otis will supply, install, and maintain the elevators, which will also be equipped with accessibility features for people with reduced mobility.

The highly anticipated metro project will provide a modern and efficient transportation system for the residents of Patna and boost connectivity, update critical infrastructure, and advance mobility throughout the region, with a planned 26 stations and two lines covering approximately 30 kms across the state capital. The new metro line is a key component of the Indian government's high-priority infrastructure initiative, which spans several years and includes a $16 billion investment to expand metro transit systems, airports and railway networks, which will all rely on efficient vertical transportation systems.
