Schneider Electric has partnered with South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. (SBPDCL) to upgrade and modernise the state's power distribution system. This partnership is a step toward providing reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy solutions to the people of Bihar.
As the demand grew, SBPDCL faced the challenge of ensuring stable and uninterrupted power distribution. The need to modernise and effectively manage the electrical grid became urgent to meet these demands.
Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure Grid solutions played a key role in overcoming these challenges. These advanced technologies provide robust monitoring capabilities, ensuring 24/7 operational uptime. The collaboration has led to notable improvements, with power reliability increasing by 90 per cent. Additionally, energy consumption and costs have been reduced by up to 80 per cent and 60 per cent, respectively. Operational efficiency has also been optimised, with engineering costs and time reduced by 70 per cent.

Schneider Electric set up a Command-and-Control Center and Disaster Recovery Center for real-time monitoring, enhancing grid connectivity and reliability. The deployment also included 305 Ring Main Units (RMUs) to improve distribution power reliability and 550 Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs) to speed up fault detection and response. This collaboration further strengthens Schneider Electric's commitment to advancing India's energy transition and building resilient power infrastructure to support the country's growth.
