Tata Power has reported a standout performance in its solar vertical for FY25, with rooftop solar revenue rising 40% YoY to Rs865 crore in Q4 and EBITDA surging 72% to Rs132 crore. For the full fiscal year, the company installed 782 MWp of rooftop capacity, generating Rs2,210 crore in revenue and Rs209 crore in PAT, reinforcing its position as India’s No. 1 rooftop solar provider across 700+ cities.
CEO Praveer Sinha said the rooftop segment is expected to double in FY26, driven by strategic initiatives and government schemes like PM Surya Ghar, especially in states such as Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, and Maharashtra.
On the manufacturing front, Tata Power’s TP Solar unit in Tirunelveli operated at over 90% capacity, supplying 3,300 MW of modules and 650 MW of solar cells in FY25. The unit posted Rs5,337 crore in revenue, Rs875 crore in EBITDA, and Rs422 crore in PAT, with most output allocated for internal EPC and rooftop deployments.
A 300 MW pilot line for TOPCon cells is underway, while the company continues to focus on its 4 GW monoPERC capacity, ensuring high-efficiency, DCR-compliant modules for domestic use. Tata Power’s solar EPC arm holds a robust Rs11,000 crore order book, including Rs4,000 crore from external clients, and Rs1,000 crore in rooftop solar orders.
With over 1.5 lakh rooftop installations and a cumulative capacity of 3 GW, Tata Power is targeting 30 lakh homes over the next three years, backed by a strong last-mile delivery network and financing partnerships.
