1,500 Slum Board Tenements Empty
At least 1,500 slum board tenements in Thiruvottiyur, near Nehru stadium and Ernavoor are waiting to be occupied. A senior Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board (TNSCB) official told media about 480 families will occupy the buildings in Nallathanneer Odai kuppam on Thiruvottiyur High Road, 865 families will go into the tenements in KP Park behind Nehru stadium, built in the 1970s and reconstructed, while 130 families will move into those at Indra Gandhi kuppam in Ernavoor.
