Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has forayed into real estate development with a proposed mixed-use luxury project in Gujarat’s GIFT City, in partnership with Mumbai-based developer Sri Lotus Developers & Realty Limited.
The joint development agreement, announced on January 7, will be executed through Sri Lotus’ subsidiary Rise Root Projects Pvt. Ltd., under a profit-sharing arrangement with Bachchan. The project will feature retail, commercial, and residential components, with a total built-up area of over one million sq. ft. This marks Sri Lotus Developers’ first project in Gujarat, underscoring its expansion into high-potential emerging markets.
Sources indicate that the land was acquired by Abhishek Bachchan nearly 15 years ago, now being leveraged for this flagship development. The company has not disclosed the investment amount but emphasized that the asset-light approach will enhance capital efficiency while enabling scale in GIFT City’s rapidly growing real estate ecosystem.
