Paints maker Akzo Nobel India Ltd has announced the appointment of Parth Jindal as its new Chairman, effective immediately, subject to shareholder approval. The decision was taken at a board meeting held on Friday, marking a significant leadership change following JSW Paints’ ₹12,915 crore majority stake acquisition last year.
Parth Jindal currently serves as Managing Director of JSW Paints Ltd and JSW Cements Ltd, bringing extensive leadership experience to Akzo Nobel India. His appointment underscores JSW’s role as promoter and signals a stronger integration of the company into the JSW Group’s broader growth strategy.
The board also approved the re-designation of Rajiv Rajgopal as Joint Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, effective January 9, 2026. Rajgopal previously held the position of Chairman and Managing Director, and will continue under the same terms and conditions as earlier approved by shareholders.
Additionally, the board has appointed Shantanu Maharaj Khosla as an independent additional director for a period of three years, until January 8, 2029, subject to shareholder approval.
These leadership changes highlight Akzo Nobel India’s focus on strengthening governance, accelerating growth, and aligning with JSW Paints’ strategic vision in India’s competitive paints and coatings market.
