Capital India Finance Limited has announced the appointment of Surender Rana as its new Executive Vice Chairman, strengthening its leadership team with extensive expertise in banking, governance, and financial strategy.
Rana’s distinguished career spans over 34 years at the State Bank of India (SBI), where he held key responsibilities including Deputy Managing Director, Chief General Manager for Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chandigarh, and Haryana, as well as senior roles such as General Manager, Deputy General Manager – SME, Assistant General Manager, and Chief Manager. His leadership extended beyond SBI, serving as a Board Member at State Bank Operations Support Services and the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, further enhancing his governance and operational acumen.
Throughout his career, Rana has spearheaded transformative initiatives. He was instrumental in developing SBI’s cashflow based SME underwriting engine, shaping the Bank’s policy on Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS), and driving digital partnerships with platforms like Flipkart and Amazon. His expertise spans SME banking, financial analysis, retail lending, business development, and operations, equipping Capital India Finance with deep domain insight and strategic direction.
Rana’s extensive experience across diverse regions — including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Patna, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Agra — underscores his strong understanding of India’s varied financial landscape. At Capital India Finance Limited, he is expected to play a pivotal role in guiding growth strategies, strengthening operational frameworks, and enhancing the company’s market leadership in the evolving financial services sector.
