IIFL Home Finance Ltd. has announced the appointment of Girish Kousgi as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 30, 2025, for a tenure of five years, subject to shareholder approval. The board also named Tushar Kotecha as Chief Financial Officer and designated him as Key Managerial Personnel, effective October 8, 2025. He succeeds Sumit Jhunjhunwala.
Kousgi, who stepped down as MD and CEO of PNB Housing Finance Ltd. in July, brings nearly three decades of experience across leading financial institutions. He has previously served as MD and CEO of Can Fin Homes Ltd., head of retail, credit and risk at Tata Capital Financial Services Ltd., executive vice president at IDFC Bank Ltd., and joint general manager at ICICI Bank Ltd.
“He has deep understanding of managing assets and liabilities and expertise in mortgage, retail lending, SME and Agri business. He has dealt with broad suite of financial products like home loans, business loans, LAP, personal loans, mortgages, deposits, retail, rural products, etc. and consistently demonstrated strategic acumen in managing sales, product development, credit underwriting, risk, and operations," according to a brief profile on Kousgi stated in the IIFL Home Finance exchange filing.
Tushar Kotecha, who steps into the CFO role, has held senior leadership positions including Group CFO at WeRize - Wortgage Technologies, CFO at Edelweiss Housing Finance Ltd., and Aditya Birla Housing Finance Ltd. With 25 years of experience, his expertise spans financial strategy, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, treasury operations, and digital transformation.
"Kotecha is widely recognized for his strategic foresight and operational excellence. He has been instrumental in strengthening financial controls, enhancing organizational profitability, and establishing robust governance and risk management frameworks. His leadership has also been central to preparing organizations for IPO readiness and enabling sustainable growth in dynamic regulatory environments," the statement said.
