Uttar Pradesh is set to redefine public transport with the launch of six state-of-the-art busports, marking one of the largest infrastructure upgrades to the state’s road transport network. Honourable Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath and Honourable Transport Minister Shri Dayashankar Singh laid the foundation stone for the ambitious project yesterday, signalling the state’s intent to create modern, integrated transit hubs under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The six busports, being developed by BeTogether (an Omaxe Group venture) with an investment of around ?2,700 crore, will be spread across Lucknow (Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar and Amausi), Ghaziabad (Old and Kaushambi), Prayagraj (Civil Lines), and Ayodhya Dham. Four of these were formally inaugurated at the event in Lucknow.
Speaking at the occasion, Mohit Goel said:
“UPSRTC’s initiative to modernize busports is a landmark step in Uttar Pradesh’s urban progress and enhanced connectivity. We are proud to be part of this transformation, turning six busports into modern, integrated transit hubs. Our aim goes beyond passenger comfort -we want to unlock new avenues for economic and community growth.”
The upcoming busports are designed to go far beyond traditional bus terminals, offering facilities such as automated ticketing, digital schedule boards, AC lounges, escalators, lifts, smart security systems, and EV charging stations. To further enhance passenger experience and economic activity, they will also house retail outlets, food courts, banquet halls, studio apartments, and office spaces, making them vibrant urban destinations in their own right.
Strategically located near key residential and commercial zones, the projects are expected to bridge infrastructure gaps, enhance last-mile connectivity, and create new business opportunities. Built on the strengths of PPP collaboration and Omaxe’s development expertise, these busports represent not just better travel infrastructure but a step towards holistic urban growth in Uttar Pradesh.
