Artist and sculptor Arzan Khambatta has presented a striking new SCRAPTURE installation at ACETECH Mumbai 2025, created in collaboration with Blum’s TANDEM runners. Titled The Face of the Future, the piece is a raw, thought‑provoking reflection on the tension between human identity and technological acceleration.
Khambatta, who began his career as an architect before turning to scrap materials as his medium, has long been known for transforming discarded wood and metal into evocative sculptures he calls SCRAPTURES. His latest work continues this tradition, using industrial fittings to tell deeply human stories.
The Face of the Future is not a glossy vision of tomorrow but a fragmented, unsettling face caught between past and future. It forces viewers to pause and ask uncomfortable questions: How is technology reshaping us? What is the invisible human cost of progress? What are we really becoming?
Khambatta explains: “For decades, I’ve used industrial materials to tell human stories. With this piece, I wanted to take Blum’s TANDEM runners — these beautifully engineered, hidden fittings — and make them part of something bigger. The paradox of our reality today is that we’re evolving with technology, but still searching for meaning.”
Blum’s Head of Marketing, Neelam Shah, adds: “Collaborating with Arzan was uniquely special. His work makes you stop and reflect. This installation sparked a bigger conversation about the growing relationship between humans and technology. The response has been overwhelming, and we’re proud our TANDEM runners were part of it.”
By blending industrial precision with artistic provocation, Khambatta’s SCRAPTURE at ACETECH Mumbai 2025 underscores the role of art as a mirror to society — compelling us to confront questions we often avoid in our relentless pursuit of progress.
