KONE India has delivered the world’s largest passenger elevator at the iconic Jio World Centre, setting a new benchmark in urban infrastructure and people‑movement solutions.
Spanning 25.78 square meters, weighing 16 tonnes, and capable of carrying up to 235 passengers across five floors in a single trip, the elevator represents a landmark engineering achievement. It was unveiled in May 2022 and is fully operational, designed to handle extremely high footfall during large‑scale events, exhibitions, and conferences.
With panoramic glass walls and advanced KONE technology, the elevator showcases the company’s expertise in delivering custom‑built, high‑capacity People Flow® solutions for complex and high‑density environments. It plays a critical role in enabling smooth, safe, and efficient mobility within one of India’s most prominent convention destinations.
Amit Gossain, Managing Director, KONE India and South Asia, said: “Large public spaces place unique demands on mobility, and delivering solutions at this scale is something we are deeply proud of. This project reflects KONE’s engineering excellence and our customer‑first approach, as we work closely with partners to deliver safe, reliable and people‑focused infrastructure that supports India’s urban growth.”
The project also aligns with KONE’s long‑term RISE strategy, which focuses on creating safer, smarter, and more sustainable people‑movement solutions as cities continue to grow taller and denser.
