Mahindra Logistics Expands East with 4 Lakh Sq. Ft. Warehousing Push

Mahindra Logistics Limited has announced a major expansion in Eastern India with the launch of two Grade-A warehousing facilities in Guwahati and Agartala, adding over 4 lakh sq. ft. of capacity. The move strengthens the company’s pan-India distribution network and supports rising demand for integrated logistics solutions across the Northeast.

The Guwahati facility, spread across 3 lakh sq. ft., is now the largest multi-client warehouse in North-East India. Strategically located near NH 17 and key transport hubs, it also houses the region’s first Community Center of Excellence, developed in partnership with the Logistics Skill Council under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The center aims to build a skilled, diverse workforce and support industrial clusters in Uparhali, Palasbari, and Rampur.

In Agartala, the 1.3 lakh sq. ft. facility is designed to serve consumption and production centers across Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Manipur. Positioned as a gateway for cross-border trade with Bangladesh, it supports just-in-time shipments and enhances first- and last-mile delivery capabilities for exporters and retailers.

As part of its ‘Go-East’ strategy, Mahindra Logistics has developed over one million sq. ft. of warehousing space across the region and plans to expand express logistics services to more than 800 pin codes. The initiative is expected to generate over 2,000 jobs, with 50% workforce diversity sourced from local communities.

“As India secured the position of fourth-largest economy in the world with a GDP of $4 trillion and actively moving towards a $30 trillion economy by 2047, efficient logistics operations and integrated supply chains will be the key drivers of this growth. Our 'Go-East' strategy, exemplified by these multi-client warehousing facilities launch in Guwahati and Agartala, redefines the logistics landscape across the country and solidifies the distribution network within Eastern India. A significant gateway to the Northeast, it expands our nationwide warehousing and distribution network to tier-II and tier-III cities, enhancing connectivity in the remotest locations of the region,” said Hemant Sikka, Managing Director & CEO, Mahindra Logistics Limited.

The facilities will serve key sectors including e-commerce, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, retail, and grocery, offering end-to-end solutions across warehousing, distribution, fulfilment, sortation, and delivery. With multimodal corridors like Maitri Setu and the Akhaura–Agartala rail project gaining traction, Mahindra Logistics is well-positioned to lead the next phase of logistics transformation in Eastern India.
