Monterrey, Mexico’s third-largest city, is rapidly transforming into the epicentre of skyscraper development in Latin America. Known for its industrial prowess, the city’s skyline is expanding at an unprecedented rate, with 11 skyscrapers currently under construction. Among these is the Rise Tower, set to become Latin America's tallest building and one of the tallest globally upon its completion in 2026.
Monterrey's role as a key economic hub has driven its surge in vertical architecture. Home to major national and international corporations, the city's development attracts global attention. Latin American construction publication DF SUD has even referred to Monterrey’s transformation as the rise of the "Dubai of Mexico."
Standing at 475 metres (1,558 feet) with 99 floors, the Rise Tower will be a milestone in Latin American construction. Upon its completion, it will be the second-tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and the 13th tallest worldwide. Designed by Pozas Arquitectos, it blends luxury with sustainability, offering 4,300 m² of green space, 8,000 m² of amenities, and a range of world-class facilities, including office spaces, residential apartments, a luxury hotel, high-end shopping, and a panoramic observation deck.
The Sohl Tower, another major project, is part of a downtown regeneration initiative. With 66 floors and a height of 268 metres (879 feet), it will feature residential apartments, office spaces, and amenities like a sky bar. LOLA Tower, a 184-metre (604-foot) office and retail skyscraper is also under construction along Morones Prieto Avenue, further adding to the city’s rapid vertical growth.
These ambitious projects are cementing Monterrey’s position as a rising global metropolis.
