North Mumbai To Set Slum Redevelopment Standards

More than 1,000 families have been handed their house allocation letters under the Slum Redevelopment Plan. We are ensuring that every family moves into a clean, hygienic, and fully equipped home with essential amenities like washrooms, kitchens, and access to clean water, elevating their standard of living significantly.

With such in-situ rehabilitation of slum dwellers at the place of their existing dwelling units, a new era of development for North Mumbai slums takes shape as speed picks up in building and handing over new flats to slum dwellers under the scheme. Furthermore, occupational certificates were issued without fees to all eligible applicants, ensuring that approvals and necessary permissions were processed smoothly. The government is committed to making sure all residents of North Mumbai will soon have homes of their own.

Some of the other significant infrastructure projects completed over the past four months in North Mumbai include the opening of the Akurli Bridge, the redevelopment of Bhagwati Hospital, and road work improvements from Dahisar to Bhayandar.
