PROPERTY REGISTRATION MADE EASY

The Government of Maharashtra issued a notification on 28 August 2024 permitting parties to admit execution and register their documents at any office of the sub-registrar, regardless of where the property is situated.

The Government has now consolidated all registration offices into two: one for ‘Mumbai City’ and the other for ‘Mumbai Suburban.’ Previously, there were 32 joint sub-registrars situated in Fort, Worli, Andheri, Kurla, and Borivali.

Thus, Maharashtra has simplified property registration by allowing it at any sub-registrar office and consolidating 32 offices into two: Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban. This is an extremely progressive step by the Government to ease the process of registration.
