What started from the four wall boundaries is evolving into a beautiful entity. The journey has been extremely gratifying, and we are now doing our bit for the environment. Having a sustainable office means having an eco-friendly office and representing a wide array. Being aware and expressing gratitude has always been close to our hearts, and we are taking small steps towards the same.
The entire 2000 sq. ft office is classy with a soothing colour palette combination of green, peach, and white that gives the place an energetic and refreshing vibe. The interiors and the office structure have also been designed, consciously keeping carbon footprints in mind. The furniture used in the office has been recycled and crafted to ensure its inclusion with the current theme. UBSC'S core values and mission statement are displayed at strategic locations and are visible to all employees.
The interior structure of the office at UBSC has also been done, taking care of minute details to ensure that the services like the air conditioning, lighting, and plumbing, are sustainable as well as leave a minimal carbon footprint. Below are a few specific features of the interior structure of the office-
Air Conditioning: - We have utilized our existing DX and VRF Units, thus reducing the carbon footprint impact of purchasing new materials.
- While designing air conditioning for the new office, we have optimized overall cooling capacity and energy consumption by considering treated fresh air. The Treated Fresh Air Unit has been sized considering the latest ASHRAE 62.1 Standards to maintain the adequate Oxygen level and control the CO2 level in the space, providing a comfortable environment and resulting in higher engagement and productivity.
- We have strategically placed Existing VRF Units for the Open Office area, while the DX Units used for the Director’s Cabin and Meeting Room can be switched ON/ OFF as required. In addition, the refrigerant used for the air-conditioning units is R407C & R410a, which are entirely CFC-free and eco-friendly.
- The DX Units are BEE Star rated, and VRF Units have been selected considering minimum COP as per ECBC, which are highly energy efficient.
Plumbing: - Water-saving techniques have become strikingly important as countries confront water shortages. Plumbing fixtures used in toilets are dual flush valves keeping in mind less water consumption. The water-saving theory behind the dual flush mechanism is that half the water is used for liquid waste than for solid waste, thereby saving overall water use.
Lighting- The lighting system has been exquisitely designed to showcase UBSC's logo dot pattern. In addition, energy-efficient LED lights have been installed specifically to achieve an LPD of 0.5 per ECBC and green building standards.
- Employee wellness is always a top priority for UBSC, and therefore lighting has been designed with 4000K equivalent to sunlight, which is the ideal environment for them to work in.
- Also, it is ensured that there is enough natural light coming into the space to ensure the place is well lit, and there is optimal utilization of the same.
Fire Alarm- A fire detection system is one of the most prudent safety measures that have to be installed in every workplace to identify hazards and avoid risks. At UBSC, an efficient fire alarm system has been installed, ensuring the safety of the employees.
Employee Friendly- We truly believe that employees are our most important customers and can provide foremost and crucial insights into the overall customer experience and view them as the most valuable assets to our company. Therefore, we have included some employee-friendly features which can give them a better working environment.
- UBSC believes in constantly updating team members with worldwide technologies and has a training room designed to ensure the same. It also serves as a place where employees can discuss strategies, conduct weekly meetings, and exchange ideas. It can accommodate 15-20 members. The employees are super excited about it.
- The office has a well-equipped pantry area for a break and lunch. This place also helps them connect informally, which is as important as forming a proper bond with each other.
- At UBSC, standee desks have been installed for people who don't prefer sitting for long hours. Instead, they can work on their laptops while standing in between long hours.
- There is a beautiful library nook that has been designed with comfortable seating arrangements and is equipped with educational and recreational books.
The office space isn't just a place to work; it's a culture in itself, a space that offers luxuries and a community you might not get at home. Also, the workplace is where you spend more extended hours of your day. Our new office is much bigger than the previous one and gives us a much better workspace.
