As global financial centres increasingly compete not only on business opportunities but also on quality of life, GIFT City is accelerating the development of social infrastructure to strengthen its position as India's premier international financial services hub.
The next phase of growth at GIFT City is focused on creating a more complete urban ecosystem, one that combines financial excellence with recreation, wellness, entertainment and community engagement. The objective is clear: attract and retain global talent by offering an environment where professionals can work, live and thrive.
At the heart of this strategy is the development of a technology-enabled golf entertainment destination in partnership with The Sports Gurukul (TSG) and OneGolf. Spread across nearly 85,000 square feet, the facility will feature a 350-foot driving range equipped with advanced golf technologies, coaching facilities and dedicated spaces for corporate networking and community events.
The project is envisioned as more than a sports venue. By combining recreation, wellness and professional engagement, it aims to create a social hub for professionals, entrepreneurs and residents within the city. The facility will offer real-time shot analytics, digital scorekeeping, performance monitoring and virtual golf simulations, bringing a globally benchmarked golf experience to GIFT City. Operations are expected to commence in January 2027.
Parallelly, GIFT City is developing a modern multi-sport arena that will further strengthen its recreational ecosystem. Scheduled for completion by September 2026, the arena will feature facilities for pickleball, padel, football, box cricket, volleyball, baseball practice and golf-related activities, along with jogging tracks, an outdoor gym and community spaces.
The project reflects a growing recognition that modern business districts must evolve beyond office towers. Today's professionals increasingly seek destinations that offer opportunities for recreation, wellness and social interaction alongside career growth.
The city's social infrastructure push extends beyond sports. GIFT City has also initiated the development of a landmark Destination Mall that will serve as a major retail, entertainment and lifestyle destination. The project, for which the Request for Proposal (RFP) has already been floated, is expected to have a minimum development potential of approximately 750,000 square feet.
The mixed-use development will house premium retail brands, international and domestic dining options, family entertainment facilities, leisure attractions and modern cinema experiences, creating a vibrant social and lifestyle hub for residents and visitors.
These investments form part of GIFT City's broader vision of building a globally competitive urban ecosystem capable of supporting multinational corporations, financial institutions, Global Capability Centres, fintech companies and international professionals.
According to GIFT City leadership, the future success of financial centres depends as much on liveability as on business competitiveness. Access to recreation, wellness, entertainment and community infrastructure has become a critical factor influencing location decisions for both institutions and highly skilled talent.
As the sports arena, golf entertainment destination and destination mall take shape over the next few years, GIFT City is steadily transforming from a financial district into a fully integrated urban destination. The developments are expected to play a crucial role in supporting the city's next phase of growth while enhancing its standing among emerging global financial centres.
By investing in quality-of-life infrastructure alongside business infrastructure, GIFT City is making a strategic bet that the future of financial hubs lies not just in attracting capital, but in attracting people.
