Development plan for seven Haryana cities, towns gets nod
A state-level committee of the town and country planning department in its meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar accorded approval to draft development plans of seven towns and cities — Badsa, Jhajjar, Kalanaur, Rohtak, Nuh, Israna and Madlauda. The CM while presiding over the state-level meeting gave directions for developing a sector in Jhajjar district for ex-servicemen. It will be first such sector developed by the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), which will not impose any enhancement. He also directed the officers to formulate a policy for land pooling in the state. Urban local bodies minister Kavita Jain was also present in the meeting. Khattar also ordered preparation of a plan for the development of ‘mahagrams’ (mega villages) so as to provide the people of villages with facilities on a par with cities and carry out development of villages in a planned manner. Three development schemes of Jhajjar, Rohtak and Kalanaur were revised in order to incorporate the latest policies of the department — Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna, New Integrated Licensing Policy-2015, Affordable Group Housing and Haryana Building Codes-2017. Apart from this, due to changes in alignment of roads and population or density, these draft projects had been amended to bring it in conformity with the regional plan of the National Capital Region. Those present in the meeting were told that the draft development plans would be published to invite objections and suggestions from people. Among those present included principal secretary to the chief minister Rajesh Khullar, additional chief secretary (revenue and disaster management) and principal secretaries of various departments.
