USA, Sahil Priyadarshi, Green Building Specialist for South Asia, International Finance Corporation (IFC) - World Bank Group, Diepu V Reddy, COO, Business Development, Strategy, Sales & Marketing, Champion Infratech. The speakers expressed their views on what can be done to achieve better sustainable goals in real estate
The next conversation on Technology Trends: Smart Building Systems Shaping Sustainability was chaired by Shabbir Kanchwala, Principal, Global network for Zero, USA and the speakers were Amitabh Kumar, Founder, ProjMatrix LLP, Regional Hub, Asia Steering Committee Member and Sudeep Mehrotra, CEO - Asset Management, Welspun The shared their views on the trends that technology has bought in with smart buildings taking the centre stage across the country.
Shravan Bendapudi, Co-Managing Director, Principal, Gensler Mumbai showcased the Samsung Retail Store in Bengaluru’s salient features as a low-carbon project.
Wilma Rodregues, Founder & Chief Transformation Officer, Saahas Zero Waste presented the case study of Brookefield Ecoworld Campus in Bengaluru initiatives to becoming a True Zero Waste certified.
The eminent experts of the panel discussion Residential Real Estate – March Towards Sustainability, Gopal NP, Vice President - ESG, Knight Frank India Pvt Ltd, Jitesh Donga, Chief of Design, Mahindra Lifespaces Developers Ltd, Mahesh Ramanujam, President & CEO, The Global Network for Zero, Pranesh Chhibber, Country Director, Canadian Wood, Shailendra Joshi, Head - ESG, Birla Estate Ltd. deliberated on best practices for residential projects.
The next topic on Commercial Developments - ESG & Buyers Demand was presented by Nitesh Mehrotra, Partner - Sustainability & ESG, EY India with speakers Aalok A. Deshmukh, Co-Founder & MD, SuperHumanRace Pvt. Ltd, Karandeep Singh Nanda, Head - Operations (West Region), Embassy Services Pvt Ltd, Shirish Patankar, Head Projects, Awfis and Gurmit Singh Arora, National President, Indian Plumbing Association and Chairman ,CII IGBC - Marketing Outreach and Strategic Alliances. They spoke about the specific needs of the commercial developments and th expectations of the occupiers as wellas the ways to bring social impact through sustainability.
In the last panel on Green Construction – Intersection of Sustainability & Innovation speakers Khurshed Gandhi, Managing Director, Strategic Consulting, Cushman & Wakefield India, Amar Tendulkar, Founder & Principal Architect, Amar Tendulkar Architects, Dr. Amit Chaudhari, Associate Director, Head MEP & Infrastructure, KPM Design Services Pvt Ltd, Komal Datta, Divisional Director, India, Benoy and Pankaj Dharkar, Founder-President, Pankaj Dharkar & Associates and Nishant Gupta Senior Associate Architect - Architect Hafeez Contractor discussed the technology intervention in construction methods and the high performance materials.
The conclave concluded on a motivational note with the Realty+ Real Talk by Sapna Srivatsava, Editor Realty+ with environment evangelist and water activist Janak Daftari who emphasized that we should respect the laws of nature and not go against it in the race for development.
