Nestled in the heart of South Bombay, Pravaah is a 3,000 sq. ft. residence that redefines urban living by bringing the poetry of nature indoors. Designed by Aditi Savani, Founder and Principal Designer of Studio Tattva by Aditi, the home is a study in fluidity - curves, waves, and organic forms shape every room, creating a space that feels serene, sculptural, and deeply personal.
Designed for a young couple and their three children, the brief was simple yet ambitious: a home that honours natural forms, balances modern aesthetics, and preserves family traditions. Savani immersed herself in the family’s story, holding multiple discussions to understand their preferences, memories, and routines. “These conversations allowed me to infuse elements of nature into the space, combined with memories and personal touches that held meaning for them,” she says.
A Living Room That Flows Like the Sea
From the moment you enter, the home’s signature fluidity is evident. Undulating panelling and arched wall details set the tone, while curved sofas, arched doorways, and a wave-patterned carpet echo the rhythm of sea waves. With panoramic views of the Arabian Sea on one side and Rani Bagh forest on the other, natural materials such as wood-like finishes, textured paint, and stone bring warmth and tactility to the interiors.
The colour palette draws inspiration from coral reefs - rust orange sofas add a pop of energy, while textured walls provide a neutral backdrop for playful accents. A rare 12-foot ceiling houses a hidden projector, transforming the living room into a cosy setup for family movie nights or informal gatherings.
The Heart of the Home: Dining With a Twist
The dining area was designed to welcome everyone - from grandparents to children. A partially raised plinth doubles as a part-bench seamlessly integrated with the dining table, evoking old-world charm while encouraging togetherness. “Designing the dining space was a joy,” shares Savani. “It’s the heart of the home where family bonds are nurtured.”
Bedrooms That Tell Personal Stories
The master bedroom blends tradition with calm elegance. Arched wall motifs, accented with gold foiling and floral patterns, frame three birds symbolising the couple’s children. An end-to-end wave-patterned carpet mirrors the home’s signature fluidity, while blue upholstery and white walls create a serene retreat.
Each child’s room reflects their personality. The daughter’s pastel princess-castle-inspired room captures the whimsy of fairy tales, while the younger son’s vibrant blue space features a bunk bed, moon-shaped lighting, and playful switchboards with happy and sad expressions. The elder son’s room is mature and monochrome, with soft curves and a striking red arched niche adding visual interest. Every room balances fun, creativity, and comfort without overwhelming the senses.
Sustainability in Every Detail
Pravaah doesn’t just celebrate aesthetics, it also embraces sustainability. No-VOC paints, water-saving fixtures, and LEED-grade energy-efficient lighting underscore the family’s commitment to responsible living.
While each room has its own identity, the home flows seamlessly, creating a cohesive narrative of comfort, style, and mindfulness. In a city where space is often constrained and design can feel forced, Pravaah achieves something rare: it feels meditative, grand, and visually harmonious, proving that modern urban homes can be both luxurious and deeply human.
