Union Minister G Kishan Reddy praised Hyderabad’s rising global stature while addressing attendees at a property expo held at HITEX on Sunday. He described the event as a “valuable platform” for middle-class families and young professionals aspiring to own their own homes. “For today’s youth and middle-class families, owning a house is a dream. This expo should serve as a gateway to help them realise that dream,” he said, emphasising the role of such events in bridging aspirations with opportunities.
During the event, Reddy presented awards to several notable builders for their significant contributions to Hyderabad’s real estate sector. He stressed that property expos do more than showcase new developments, they educate the public and enable potential buyers to make informed decisions about property investments. Reddy extended warm Diwali greetings, wishing everyone light, happiness, and prosperity in the festive season.
Hyderabad’s Rising Global Profile
Highlighting Hyderabad’s rapid development, Reddy referred to the city as a “rising global hub” and praised its growth across multiple sectors, including defence production, information technology, pharmaceuticals, and real estate. He remarked that the city’s transformation is so significant that “many in Delhi tell me it reminds them of Singapore,” underscoring Hyderabad’s appeal as a modern, well-planned urban centre with growing international recognition.
The minister also spoke about the Central government’s active role in supporting infrastructure projects in Telangana. Among the initiatives, Reddy mentioned the potential expansion of the Metro Rail network and the ongoing alignment surveys for the Regional Ring Road and Rail Ring Road projects. These infrastructure developments, he said, are expected to accelerate Hyderabad’s growth further, especially considering that 50 per cent of the state’s population resides within the ring region.
Real Estate and Urban Development
Reddy predicted a bright future for Hyderabad’s real estate sector, stating, “The sky is the limit for Hyderabad’s growth.” He expressed confidence that the city’s expanding commercial and residential projects, coupled with robust infrastructure improvements, would continue to attract both investors and residents.
He also shared updates on the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station and over 40 railway stations across Telangana, aimed at enhancing connectivity and improving the commuter experience. These projects, he said, are part of a broader vision to transform Hyderabad into a city that not only meets the needs of its residents but also welcomes people from all regions and professions.
Empowering Homebuyers
Reddy reiterated the importance of property expos like the HITEX event in helping buyers navigate the real estate market. By bringing builders and buyers together under one roof, such platforms provide middle-class families and young professionals with access to information, guidance, and financing options necessary to make property ownership more attainable.
He concluded by highlighting Hyderabad’s evolving urban landscape and its promise as a global business and residential hub. With strong government support for infrastructure, a thriving real estate market, and diverse economic growth across multiple sectors, the minister said the city is poised for unprecedented development in the coming years.
Hyderabad, according to Reddy, is no longer just a regional centre; it is emerging as a cosmopolitan city with opportunities for all, from first-time homebuyers to large-scale investors. The property expo, he noted, is one step in connecting citizens with the city’s growing opportunities, ensuring that dreams of homeownership and urban living are within reach for a broader section of society.
