Lucknow development body reduces land-limit

Now, one can construct up to four-storey buildings on plots of minimum 300 square metres. The board meeting of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Saturday decided to reduce land limit for building flats from 2,000 square metres to 300 square metres. The decision was taken to provide housing units to maximum people, keeping in mind the growing requirement with increase in population.   “Now, Lucknow Development Authority will allow construction of ground floor plus three floors on a minimum 300 sqmt plot and one storey can be added for every additional 100 sqmt area, up to a maximum of 24 on a 2,000sqmt plot,” said an official. A survey will be conducted and those constructions that can be accommodated under the new policy will be regularised after paying penalties, he added. The Lucknow Development Authority board also decided to impose user charges on 25 residential colonies in the city including Jankipuram, Aashiana, Chowk, Alambagh and Sitapur Road for cleaning, garbage collection and maintenance of roads.
