Municipal Corporation of Delhi Makes Property Mutation Fully Online

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has discontinued any manual correspondence pertaining to mutation of properties, and the entire process is totally online now.

“MCD has decided to discontinue the practice of manual correspondence/delivery of e-change of name certificates. This step is in pursuance to the Digital India initiative of the Government of India and with the aim to bring more transparency and accountability in the process,” said the corporation in a statement.

According to MCD, the certificate can be downloaded by the public on MCD’s website, which will be a QR code enabled computer-generated certificate requiring no signature. “Further, e-mutation will apply only to those cases where instruments have been registered prior to March 31, 2019 and other cases such as succession/transfer on account of death,” added the statement.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi has also issued instructions that notices for properties, except properties covered under GRP, will be mandatorily issued online. This step has also been taken by MCD to bring more transparency and for better monitoring and disposal of these notices.

Such online notices will be issued with an auto-generated computer serial number through the web portal. The process of serving notices for property tax reminders will also be online soon.
