The State Cabinet gave its approval to new planning areas of 10 towns to pave the way for the constitution of corresponding planning authorities and drafting the master plan for the future development.
Arwal, Supaul, Sonepur, Sheikhpur, Banka, Gopalganj, Jehanabad, Madhepur. Nawada and Bhaglpur are the towns where the government plans to envisage planned urbanization and development activities in the allied rural areas having urban potential. The planning authority will be created for each listed town which in turn will prepare the master plan.
