The Goa state government has extended the deadline for receiving suggestions and objections on Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) from stakeholders, giving them a week more up to September 11 to submit them.
Department of urban development had notified the final draft of the Goa Real Estate (Regulation and Development) (Registration of Real Estate Projects, Registration of Real Estate Agents, Rates of Interest and Disclosures on Website) Rules, 2017 on August 24.
“Considering the representations from various stakeholders, the government has decided to extend the deadline by a week,” J Ashok Kumar, urban development director, said. The original deadline was September 3.
Considering the range of stakeholders like architects, engineers, chartered accountants, promoters/developers and real estate agents, and analyzing the ongoing and proposed housing projects, it is appropriate to give more time to stakeholders to review the draft regulations, Manguesh Prabhugaonker, chairman, IIA, Goa chapter said.
