SOMANY Ceramics Ltd., a leading name in the ceramic industry, collaborated with the Techno India University, Kolkata, on a project titled "Transforming Broken Tiles into Trendsetting Style." This innovative initiative aims to promote the recycling of waste tiles into pieces of art and captivating murals, fostering a culture of sustainability while addressing waste reduction. 20 talented architecture students showcased their artistic and technical expertise by repurposing discarded tiles into breathtaking works of art, serving as a testament to their commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Anshuman Chakravarty, VP & Head of Marketing at Somany Ceramics, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, "It’s inspiring to see such dedication towards recycling and sustainability among young architecture students. At Somany Ceramics, we truly believe in eco-friendly innovation. In fact, all our tile adhesives are made using recycled waste tiles. It’s important for all of us to spread the message about reducing construction waste and reusing materials. We’re truly grateful to the students and faculty of the Techno India University, Kolkata, for their participation in this project, which combines creativity with environmental care.”

“We have joined hands with Somany Ceramics Ltd. for an art installation project called ‘Transforming Broken Tiles into Trendsetting Style.’ This collaboration provided our students with a valuable opportunity to apply their design skills in a real-world setting. Through this tile art project, they not only gained practical experience in eco-friendly design but also played a part in supporting an important environmental cause of sustainability," said Prof. Rosi Sarkar, HOD, Techno India University, Kolkata.

The partnership between SOMANY Ceramics and the Techno India University, Kolkata, stands as a great example of how working together can lead to positive change. By tapping into the creativity of students, the project helped spread awareness about the importance of recycling and encouraged young minds to take care of the environment.
