Signify Partners for CSR Project With SRF Foundation

Signify recently illuminated 5 schools in the Kamrup district of Assam under its Jagmag Pathshala CSR program, in association with SRF Foundation. The project was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Assam Shri. Prof. Jagdish Mukhi at Nartap ME School, Dimoria Block, Kamrup(M), Assam.

As a step towards creating a brighter future for the children, the company has installed a 2.5 KW solar power plant and energy efficient lights and fans in 5 classrooms in each school. The solar power plant will provide clean and sustainable energy to the schools, thereby reducing their dependence on traditional electricity sources and also lower their operating costs and carbon footprint in the long run. The company has also installed outdoor lighting in all schools, making the school premises safer for students and staff in the evening hours.

Suresh Reddy, Head – SRF Foundation, said, “We have a long-standing relationship with Signify India and we are proud to now bring their ‘Jagmag Pathshala’ program to Kamrup, Assam. This program will enable a more comfortable and conducive learning environment for students. It will also alleviate the concerns of power outages in school and its impact on the children’s education.”

Natasha Wadhwa, Head – CSR, Signify Innovations India Limited, said, “At Signify, our purpose is to unlock the extraordinary potential of light to create brighter lives and a better world. With our school lighting CSR program ‘Jagmag Pathshala’, we aim to create a brighter future for students by lighting up their classrooms and creating a better learning environment. We are delighted to illuminate 5 schools in the Kamrup district of Assam, wherein each school is now equipped with a 2.5 KW solar plant and new energy-efficient LED lighting and ceilings fans. The solar power plant will enable the school to be energy self-reliant and sustainable in the long run.”
