Suzlon Secures 302.4 MW Wind Power Project From Jindal Renewables

Suzlon has further strengthened its partnership with Jindal Renewables by securing an additional 302.4 MW wind power project in the Koppal region of Karnataka. This marks the second significant order from Jindal Renewables, bringing their total wind power capacity to 702.4 MW, making it Suzlon’s largest-ever commercial and industrial (C&I) order from a single customer.

The strategic collaboration between Suzlon and Jindal Renewables focuses on advancing India’s green steel production. Last month, Suzlon had already secured a 400 MW captive wind power project with Jindal Renewables in the same region. The wind power generated will be used for captive consumption at steel plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, promoting sustainability in steel production and contributing to India’s renewable energy goals.

Suzlon’s order book now stands at a record 5.4 GW, with 56% of this coming from Commercial and Industrial customers. As part of this agreement, Suzlon will supply 96 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with Hybrid Lattice (HLT) Towers, each with a 3.15 MW capacity.
