Larsen and Toubro (L&T) announced that its building and factories business has secured multiple orders in India. L&T said it has received an order from the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology to construct a super-specialty hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The company will undertake the construction of civil structures, finishes, façade, interiors, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services. Additionally, the company will also be responsible for paramedical and external development jobs which include landscaping. The total built-up area of the project is 11 lakh square feet. Shares of L&T were trading higher by 0.08%.
The company also secured an order from another client for the construction of an office space in Mumbai. The project has an approximate built-up area of 13 lakh square feet and entails a civil and composite steel structure that has 2 basement levels, a ground level, 6 parking levels, and 18 office floors. The project is expected to be completed within 20 months.
The company has classified the orders as significant which puts the order value between Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,500 crore. Recently, the company’s health business unit won an order from the Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata to construct a medical college and hospital campus at Rajarhat, Kolkata on a design and build mode.
L&T said it will construct a 605-bed hospital, a medical college with an annual intake capacity of 150 students, and hostels for students, nurses, interns, and residents. The total built-up area stands at 1.21 million square feet.
The project will be executed over a duration of 60 months and will be divided into two phases. L&T said the scope of work involves civil structures, finishes, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP). Shares of the company have risen by nearly 5% since the beginning of the year. The stock has gained nearly 56% in the last one year.
