LED Bulbs Procurement Price Drops to at All Time Low of Rs 54.90: Piyush Goyal
India's Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy Minister Piyush Goyal has launched ETEnergyWorld.com, the energy portal which aims to become the one-stop destination of all energy-related developments in India and across the globe. Speaking at a conference on "Transformation in Energy Sector Value Chain", Goyal informed that in a recent benchmark, LED bulbs procurement price has dropped to Rs 54.90 for 9 watt bulb in latest bidding yesterday, which is 83% lower than the price on which LED bulbs are procured earlier at Rs 310 just 20 months back. Goyal was delighted by huge success of energy efficiency campaign and said that our share in world LED market has moved up in 1.5 year from 0.1% to 12%. Earlier in his tweets on lowest LED procurement price. Speaking on the occasion, he said that whatever we have achieved is because of the partnership of Government and its stakeholders. He also appreciated government officials and said that whole credit of success goes to Team India which comprises of officials, employees and general public.
