In a significant leadership transition, Pradyumna Vyas has been named President of the World Design Organisation (WDO), a global body championing industrial design as a tool for social and economic progress. With decades of experience shaping India’s design ecosystem, Vyas brings a rare blend of institutional insight and international perspective to the role.
Formerly Director of the National Institute of Design (NID) and a Senior Advisor to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Vyas has long been a bridge between academia, industry, and policy. His appointment signals WDO’s intent to deepen its engagement with emerging economies and foster inclusive design frameworks.
Vyas also serves as Independent Director on the boards of Titan Company Ltd., Dynamatic Technologies Ltd., and Carysil Ltd., underscoring his commitment to design-led innovation across sectors. His leadership is expected to steer WDO’s strategic initiatives around sustainable development, design education, and global collaboration.
“Design must move beyond aesthetics—it must solve real problems,” Vyas has often said. His presidency is poised to amplify that ethos on a global stage.
