Yohan and Michelle Poonawalla have supported the transformation of Cowasjee Jehangir Colony (CJ Club) in Mumbai with the creation of a state-of-the-art, floodlit multipurpose sports complex. Unveiled during the club’s 25th Silver Jubilee celebrations, the facility features courts for tennis, pickleball, volleyball, throwball, basketball, and sepak takraw—setting a new benchmark for inclusive recreational infrastructure.
Built in collaboration with dedicated teams, the complex is equipped with professional-grade sports kits, synthetic flooring, advanced lighting systems, and robust civil infrastructure. The initiative reflects the Poonawallas’ commitment to grassroots impact, civic transformation, and youth development.
Yohan Poonawalla, Chairman of the Poonawalla Group, described the facility as “a tribute to the spirit of youth,” while Michelle Poonawalla, Director and artist, emphasized its role in promoting joy, inclusion, and aspiration. The project adds to their philanthropic legacy, which includes the restoration of Pune’s Turf Club and the launch of a Neurological and Trauma Care Unit at Ruby Hall Clinic.
