The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing has opened a complex of subsidized eco-friendly houses in Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia. The houses were built under the Indonesia Green Affordable Housing Program (IGAHP) to provide affordable housing designed with a green concept to low-income residents.
Under the IGAHP, the government is using a strategy for building eco-friendly housing using sustainable building materials and energy-efficient design. The financing scheme for the IGAHP program supports housing access for low-income people.
The housing complex has also received a green building certification. The houses are the first subsidized ones in Indonesia that have been certified intermediate-level green based on their construction planning.
