Amrapali homebuyers prefer NBCC, HUDCO to take over incomplete project; to meet minister today
An eight-member delegation from various projects of Amrapali is set to meet UP's urban housing minister Suresh Khanna today and will suggest the government to bring in state-run firms such as National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) and Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) to take over all the projects of Amrapali. Home buyers of Amrapali have asked the Uttar Pradesh government to not involve builders' body CREDAI in the development of incomplete projects and asked for written assurances for the road map to complete their projects. A three-member panel formed by the UP government to resolve the builder-buyer dispute had recently said that co-developers will be roped in to complete the delayed projects. Builders body Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI) have also proposed to get members or non-members to come in as investors or co-developers. Home buyers have asked clarification on what will happen to those projects where construction is merely completed to 20-30% and for those where construction has not even started. They have also demanded clarification on the fast process of registries of those flat owners who had received the possession letters but are unable to complete the registration due to heavy dues Amrapali is supposed to pay to the authorities. Home buyers also asked how the government will take up the matter with banks for waving off the EMIs and interest till the time possession is given.
