India Accelerator (IA) has acquired co-working operator MySOHO in a strategic cash-equity deal, marking a significant step in IA’s mission to become a comprehensive partner for start-ups across India. The acquisition adds 18 centres across eight cities to IA’s portfolio, encompassing over 90,000 square feet of workspace and approximately 1,800 desks, with an occupancy rate nearing 90%.
Ashish Bhatia, CEO of India Accelerator, emphasized that the acquisition is a pivotal move in IA's journey to support start-ups beyond capital and mentorship. He stated, "Founders need more than capital and mentorship—they need ecosystems that fuel creativity, collaboration, and resilience." This acquisition aligns with IA's vision to create a robust infrastructure that fosters innovation and growth for start-ups.
MySOHO, founded by Tushar Mittal, Ashu Kapoor, and Navneet Gill, has established a strong presence in the co-working space sector, catering to the growing demand for flexible office solutions. The integration of MySOHO's centres into IA's network will enhance the accessibility of co-working spaces for entrepreneurs and start-ups across the country.
Looking ahead, India Accelerator plans to expand its co-working footprint to over 45 hubs across more than 30 cities, totalling approximately 625,000 square feet of workspace with a seating capacity of 12,500. Each hub will host mentorship programs, investor connects, and start-up-focused clinics, aiming to create one of India's most extensive founder-centric co-working ecosystems.
According to real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield, India is the largest flexible office market in the Asia-Pacific region, with 79.7 million square feet of stock across the top eight cities as of June 2025. This market growth underscores the increasing demand for flexible and collaborative workspaces, presenting significant opportunities for IA's expanded network.
The acquisition of MySOHO positions India Accelerator to capitalize on the evolving landscape of co-working spaces and start-up support ecosystems. By integrating MySOHO's established centres into its network, IA aims to provide start-ups with enhanced resources, networking opportunities, and a conducive environment for growth and innovation.
This strategic move also reflects a broader trend in the Indian real estate sector, where co-working spaces are becoming integral to the start-up ecosystem. The demand for flexible office spaces is being driven by the increasing number of start-ups, freelancers, and small businesses seeking cost-effective and collaborative work environments.
India Accelerator's acquisition of MySOHO signifies a strategic expansion of its co-working space network, reinforcing its commitment to supporting start-ups across India. With plans for further expansion and the integration of MySOHO's centres, IA is poised to play a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators in the country.
