Interior design is often celebrated for creativity, but behind the scenes, projects frequently falter, not because of design, but due to coordination challenges. This is where Project Studio AI is making a difference. The AI-native platform is built to manage the complexities of interior design and fit-out projects, giving studios the tools to execute seamlessly, maintain margins, and deliver on time.
Founded by Nikhil Kaushik and Abhishek Jha, Project Studio has developed an end-to-end operating system for independent interior design studios. Its AI-driven platform centralizes project execution, coordination, sourcing, and payments, replacing the patchwork of fragmented tools and manual processes that often lead to delays and margin leakage.
Funding Boost for Expansion
Project Studio recently raised an undisclosed funding round led by Modulor Capital, with participation from We Founder Circle, EvolveX, and Thapar Innovate. The round, advised by capitalCORN, will support enhancements to the platform’s AI capabilities, deepen its presence in India, and fuel international expansion.
Vineet Neeraj, CEO and Founder of capitalCORN, emphasized the company’s potential: “Project Studio is solving a core execution challenge in the interior design ecosystem by using AI to bring predictability and transparency to complex projects while empowering independent studios.” Pilot deployments in the UAE show early international traction, signaling readiness for global growth.
Bhavish Sood, GP at Modulor Capital, added, “In workflow-heavy markets like interior design, owning execution is what creates real defensibility. That’s exactly where the Project Studio team is starting.”
Solving Execution Challenges
Interior projects can be unpredictable. While creative design is often flawless on paper, execution suffers due to a lack of coordination, delayed approvals, fragmented tools, and poor visibility across tasks. Project Studio’s AI platform addresses these issues by streamlining workflows, automating routine tasks, and providing real-time insights into every project stage.
“Interior projects don’t fail because of design; they fail because of coordination,” says Nikhil Kaushik, Co-founder of Project Studio. “Our focus is to make project execution predictable, transparent, and profitable for studios in India and globally.” By placing AI at the core of operations, the platform ensures studios can handle complex projects without compromising creativity.
Empowering Independent Studios
Unlike solutions that aim to replace designers, Project Studio’s mission is to empower them. The platform allows studios to remain independent, competitive, and profitable, providing technology that mirrors the real-world complexity of interior projects.
Currently, Project Studio works with over 150 interior design firms and has supported more than 3,500 projects across India. Its software is operational nationwide and is gradually rolling out in the UAE and the US. The company envisions a global ecosystem where independent studios can thrive while leveraging a scalable, AI-driven infrastructure.
Looking Ahead
The new funding positions Project Studio to expand both its technological capabilities and market footprint. With AI as a central feature, the platform is set to transform project management in interior design, not only in India but across MENA and other international markets.
By combining design sensibility with operational intelligence, Project Studio is tackling one of the interior industry’s oldest problems: making project execution as seamless and profitable as the creative process itself. As the company scales, it could redefine how independent studios compete, collaborate, and succeed in a global marketplace.
