EIH to close New Delhi’s Oberoi Hotel for 2 Years

Hospitality major EIH Ltd, which runs hotels and resorts under brands Oberoi and Trident, will close hotel Oberoi, New Delhi for two years for major renovations of the property. Delhi's iconic Oberoi hotel will be shut down for major renovation from April 1. It is expected to reopen by April 1, 2018. In fact, it is a landmark in the heart of Delhi for the last 50 years and was built by the late M S Oberoi, who founded the group in 1934. The first two hotels that he had acquired, one each in Shimla and Kolkata, were existing properties. Going ahead, the renovations of this hotel will be one of the longest renovation period for a marquee hotel in the country.
