Ex-DGCA Chief Arun Kumar Appointed As Gururam RERA Chairman

The Haryana government has named former DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) chief and senior retired IAS officer Arun Kumar as the Chairman of the Gurugram bench of Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (H-RERA). Additionally, retired IRS officer Parneet Singh Sachdev has been appointed as the chief of H-RERA's Panchkula bench.

The order regarding these appointments was issued by additional chief secretary (town and country planning) Arun Gupta.

A retired IAS of 1989 batch of Haryana cadre, Kumar has served as director general of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). In October 2023, he was appointed as chief commissioner of Chandigarh Right to Service Commission by the Union Home Ministry. In his tenure he has also served as the deputy commissioner Chandigarh.

The post of H-RERA (Gurugram) was vacant ever since the bench’s first chairman KK Khandelwal retired in February this year.

The tenure of the office of the Chairperson, Haryana RERA (Gurugram and Panchkula) will be five years, or till the age of 65, whichever is earlier, the order issued by the government said.

Retired IRS officer, Sachdev, has also served as principal chief commissioner (income tax).
